Akshay Kumar has revealed the real inspiration behind the interesting title of his upcoming film Bachchhan Paandey. The actor plays a dreaded gangster with an eye of stone in the film. It stars Kriti Sanon as an aspiring filmmaker who wants to make a biopic on him and Jacqueline Fernandez as his girlfriend. They kickstarted the promotions on Wednesday and addressed the media at a press event. During the event, Akshay was asked about the title Bachchhan Paandey which reminds moviegoers of the Bachchans and the Pandey family of Bollywood. He said, "At the success party of Housefull 4, I just saw a picture of Abhishek Bachchan and Chunky Pandey, and that’s how we got the title Bachchhan Paandey." Akshay-starrer Housefull 4 was directed by Farhad Samji and had Chunky Pandey in the role of Pehla Pasta and Aakhri Pasta.
Akshay arrived for the event in a grey tee and matching blazer with black pants. Kriti joined him in a yellow gown and Jacqueline was in a colourful saree. Arshad Warsi was in a denim on denim look.
Akshay, who has previously played negative roles in films like Khiladi 420 and Ajnabee, said he loved playing the role of a villain in Bachchhan Paandey. "I have realised that the villain has a good role and there is a lot of substance to his character as opposed to the hero, who only wins in the last 10 minutes of the film. It was fun to play the role," he said at the event.
