Actor Celina Jaitly will celebrate her first Karva Chauth today, after getting married to Dubai-based Austrian businessman Peter Haag earlier this year.
Jaitly, 29, wedded Haag in a private ceremony at a 1000-year-old monastery in Austria on July 23. While her hubby is concerned about his wife going without food for a day, Celina is all kicked up about the ritual.
“It will be my first Karva Chauth. I have only done it in films so far, and it is an amazing feeling to do it for real. The custom is new for Peter, so he is a bit reluctant as to how I will go through the entire day without food and water. So I have major convincing to do,” she says, adding, “He was initially very skeptical, and horrified about the ritual of fasting with no water, as I suffer from low BP. He insisted on a check-up.”
She’s all set to look her best on the big day. “I’m wearing an Anarkali outfit.” What about mehendi? “Yes, I’ll have it applied... I’ll probably go all out with it.”
