2007 will certainly be remembered as the golden year in SRK’s career.

Firstly, he took on the Shehenshah of Indian cinema, read Amitabh Bachchan, by replacing him as the KBC host—a role that he took over with great aplomb. And despite all controversies and the reported media war between the two titans, SRK stood tall and was successful in striking a chord with the masses.

In April he became the third Bollywood star, after Aishwarya Rai and Amitabh Bachchan, to be immortalised in wax at the world famous Madame Tussauds Museum in London.

And then came Chak De India! — a film, which will not only be considered as a milestone in Bollywood, but as a movie that reinstated the confidence in the youth of the country.

Within weeks of its release the title track of the film, Chak De India!, became the anthem for the youth and subsequently for the entire nation, being played at all major events including the Twenty20 World Cup Cricket tournament, where India emerged victorious.

As hockey coach Kabir Khan in the film, Shah Rukh was also successful in breaking his lover boy image and proved that he can do much more than singing songs and dancing around trees, something he was trying to achieve for the last couple of years.

Come November 9 and SRK once again dons the much-liked lover boy role in his home production Om Shanti Om. Trade experts are already touting the film, which has already generated a lot of hype due to King Khan’s Dard-e-disco dance number, as the biggest film of 2007.

Undoubtedly, Shah Rukh will emerge victorious this time too. And as ardent fans of Badshah Khan, we hope he continues to surprise us forever and ever!!!
