Sporting glasses on and off-screen seems to be the latest fad among our Bollywood divas.

Deepika Padukone, 25
“I have a low number, so I thought why not make it stylish. I’m having fun wearing these glasses. I have had basic power of 0.25 for a while. But I didn’t want that to increase so I started wearing glasses. I am
short-sighted. So I carry them with me for watching a movie or when driving. I think glasses are sexy
and people have praised my look,” says Deepika.
Sonam Kapoor, 25
She was one of those very few actors who made a public appearance
sporting glasses at a Christmas event with Anganwadi kids in Mumbai in 2009. “I developed a knack for
reading ever since I was a kid. And I am really fond of reading. So now I have a slight power. While reading I surely wear my glasses. I think they suit me well too,” quips the actor.
Vidya Balan, 33
“Ever since I was a kid I am fascinated with glasses. But unfortunately I could never wear them as I have normal eyesight. But I got an opportunity to wear them while shooting for No One Killed Jessica and ever since then I wear them most of the times. I think it suits me really well and I ended up getting a lot of compliments. So I think wearing glasses makes you look cool,” says Vidya.

But my look fetched me quite a bit of compliments so I even wore it in Kurbaan. Now I don’t mind wearing them,” says Kareena. But the actor boasts of a normal vision so she does not need to wear them regularly.
Rani Mukherji, 32
Her red framed elegant glasses from Babul became a rage. And then she even sported spectacles in her many other films in a few scenes. She is confident sporting them and specifically needs them while reading or driving. “I have no problems wearing them on screen or off screen. And these days they seems to be quite popular,” she says.
