Deserted roads and not a soul in sight in our ever crowded city—this is going to be the sight when India and Pakistan meet for the epic battle on March 30 in Mohali.

Shaurya Aggarwal, an engineering consultant, has witnessed all the World Cup action and is now heading to Mohali with about ten friends. “We will be screaming at the top of our voices till the time we don’t win,” he says.

The dhabas and other eateries in the city are all geared up for a high footfall on the semifinal day. “We will drive to Mohali, eat at the dhabas on our way, wrap a huge flag on our car, and paint our faces,” says Apurv Bansal, an IIT Delhi graduate.

“I am going to bunk college, and go to DLF Promenade or to the All Sports Bar to catch the match on a big screen with friends,” says Nikita Goel of Shri Ram College of Commerce. Youth are also choosing lounges and pubs in the city over sitting at home and enjoying the match. Dilliwalas are out of control, and will return to sanity only after the cup is home.
