and stand against corruption. Organised by Delhi University Students Union, this annual marathon attracted college and school students from around the city. Beating the morning blues, students came in huge numbers to participate in the event.

The first race of the marathon was to grab the white and red T-shirts that were to be awarded to the participants who finished first. “I don’t care about the prize at the moment; all I care for is to win”, said Ariba, 14.

To some, the event was a platform to polish their talent and prepare for future. “I want to participate in Olympics and I am here to prepare myself”, said Honey, who along with his brother, has been running this marathon for the last six years.

There were three races —5km, 3km and 2km. The race was divided into three groups — under 14, under 19 and above 19.

“Everyone who ran the marathon and stands against corruption, is the winner,” said Pratik Mittal, the father of a participant.
