Can you believe it? Madhu my Mottu maid is back already. Have to give her brownie points for her perseverance. I made the mistake of asking her for a brownie to dunk into the coffee that she has just served me, and she uses that as an excuse to fill my ears with Sonu Niigaam’s fan following.
One of them is a former contestant of Indian Idol who goes by the name of Debojit Dutta and follows Sonu everywhere like a little lamb.
She doesn’t, thank God for small mercies. But she’s still hanging around, rambling about this little lamb who waited for an hour at a concert few days ago in the hope that Sonu would call him up on stage and sing with him again. And guess what? Sonu did just that. Taaliyan!
Kahani khatam? Not when Mottu is around. She’s still on a song, telling me that the singer let this pankha sing two tracks and guess what, one of them was a love ballad. Sonu was like, “Aur koi gaana nahin mila, kya?” Ha, ha, ha. Ab ja, ja ja.
