Lost somewhere in the middle of Mohammad Ali Road, lies an unlikely passage that whisks you through a classic era of Indian cinema and kitsch, packed with film memorabilia from the ’50s all the way to the ’80s.

All this is a personal collection of the 54-year-old owner, Shahid Mansoori. The owners, father and his son, Wahid Mansoori, have a collection of thousands of film memorabilia, be it lyric books, photographs, lobby cards, press kits and books, posters, merchandise or anything else, available for sale at nominal prices.

Shahid Mansoori is also the only one who possesses the lyrics book of India’s first talkie film, Alam Ara (1931). “The National Archives and many people from the government tried buying it off me to place it in some museum, but I don’t want and cannot let go of this,” said Wahid.
