Drive right:

The risk element is always high for drivers in this season. Please curb your ‘fast-paced’ instincts and drive cautiously. Remember, the faster you drive, the lesser time you have to brake, especially on wet and slippery roads.

Watch out:

Oil spills in this weather are common, and they can be dangerous on wet roads. Pot holes on water-logged stretches are another nightmare. So, keep a careful watch on the road as you drive.

Stay cool:

That’s the biggest mantra for this season! While you can’t keep the windows open due to the rain, keeping them rolled up means vapour condensation on the windows and the windscreen. So, even if you feel cold, switch on the AC intermittently.

Check-ups:

Take your car for regular check-ups. While a breakdown in any other season is a bad experience, during the monsoon, it becomes a curse. Make sure that the wipers, head lights, tail lights and brakes are in perfect working condition.

Step on the accelerator while on a water-logged street, else water may enter the exhaust pipe. Avoid roads where the water level drowns the car’s chassis.
