Late singing legend Frank Sinatra was obsessed with cleanliness and used to take a shower twelve times a day, his widow Barbara has revealed in an interview. The American singer and actor’s wife gave a glimpse of the private life and often troubled times of Frank, nicknamed Ol’ Blue Eyes because of his shockingly blue eyes. Barbara recalled how the singer was both a generous romantic full of charisma and a terrible drunk with a furious temper.
She admitted that the legend was obsessed with cleanliness and would enter a room surrounded by a gentle waft of flowers. “He was a guy who took about 12 showers a day. I mean, he was neat. He always smelled of lavender,” the Daily Mail quoted Barbara as saying. Barbara, 84, the singer’s fourth wife has written a book in remembrance of Ol’ Blue Eyes where she shares similar secrets about the singer. He died in her arms in 1998 at the age of 82, after 22 years of marriage.
