This friendship day, HT Café’s celeb columnists and their best friends give us a sneak peek into what makes their friendship tick.
Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra met one of her closest friends, Tamanna Sharma, 11 years ago. “We lived together, when she first came to Mumbai. Priyanka is grounded and is never rude to anybody,” said Tamanna, who flies with an international airline.
Actor Imran Khan’s best friend, filmmaker Wasim Khan recalls, "In 2004, I was in Kashmir. It was snowing and it was my birthday the next day. I told Imran I had no plans and, he said, ‘Pick me up from the airport at 10.’" Actor Riteish Deshmukh too met best buddy, Rajeev Parekh, in college. "We studied architecture in New York. I watch all his films and am a frank critic," says Parekh, an architect.
Actors Rahul Bose, Lara Dutta and Shruti Haasan met their BFFs as children. “I’ve known Nasir Khan since grade 2. We still do the same things we did together 30 years ago,” says Bose. “We have no secrets from each other,” says Dutta about her friends, Shreyashi and Tania.” “Anusha and I know each other since pre-school but we’re poles apart,” says Haasan.
