The Splash star has a menagerie of rescued pets at her solar-powered farm, and she’d prefer to spend time with her animals than on a movie set.

She says, “I have three alpacas, chickens, a few roosters... There’s a lot of wildlife near me but that’s great because I can see elk and owls and hawks. I’m pretty hands on [with the animals]. Some of my animals are from shelters, or I hear that someone’s going to put some animals down. Usually I try to give them away but the ones I can’t give away are the ones I get stuck with.”

The actress says, “I’ve been acting since I was 11 years old and it’s an incredibly wonderful and beautiful creative outlet. I think it can be an inspiring thing for people’s imagination and a wonderful escape. I still love movies and I always will. But as I grow up, my priorities shift to things of a little more substance and I want to be of service as much as I can.”
