Prachi Desai, the svelte actress who is awaiting the release of her second film Life Partner, shares her fitness secrets

Fitness for me is: The aspect of life that keeps me happy. If I am fit, then I am happy. Of course, fitness doesn’t come easy. We have to put in a lot of efforts during workouts and to ensure that we eat proper food.
My fitness regime comprises: Cardio and weights on alternate days. I have joined yoga classes. I learn power yoga and it’s amazing; it gives me a real good feeling.
My first workout: Was stressful and I suffered from terrible pain. I did weights that day along with body stretches. I was almost dead as I was not used to it.
I started exercising after watching: Myself and my paunch.
If I don’t workout I feel: Guilty about it. I go: “I haven’t worked out. Oh no!”
When I workout, I feel: Great. As my body gets into shape, I feel I have achieved something.
My diet: I don’t have a perfect diet. When I am free, I go out for dinners with family and friends. And if I am watching a DVD, I go to bed really late like at three in the night. Only when I am shooting, I get up early and have a good breakfast. After two hours, I drink a glass of juice and then I have my lunch. In the evenings I eat sandwiches and drink a cup of coffee. Cold coffee is very dear to me. You can say I am addicted to it. I keep munching the entire day. It’s good to keep eating after intervals but not the unhealthy stuff which I love (laughs).
I stay away from: Nothing. I feel that we should have a little of everything. We should not give up completely on anything. But I try and eat grilled or roasted rather than deep-fried.

{{/usCountry}}The Bollywood body I envy the most: Aishwarya Rai’s.
The favourite Bollywood hero with the fittest body: John Abraham.
The best compliment I have got: Was during Jhalak DikhlaJaa. I don’t remember who the person was but somebody called me ‘Sexy’.
My latest fitness trend: Would be frequenting the gym.
The relationship between fitness and health: When you are fit, you are healthy. You eat properly and you exercise well to keep yourself healthy and fit. So they both go hand-in-hand.
The relationship between fitness and good looks: When you grow fit, you definitely start looking better.
The relationship between fitness and self confidence: If one is fit then one feels happy about himself. It automatically boosts one’s self confidence.
A piece of advice for girls aspiring to be fit: Eat healthy, exercise really hard and most of all, be happy.
