The Facebook family’s furry new member, CEO Mark Zuckerberg’s pet pup Beast, is creating a stir barely days after it got its own account on the social networking site. The fluffy white Puli, listed as a “public figure”, is already “liked” by over 65,000 users.

Zuckerberg, 26, is regularly updating witty status messages for Beast, such as like “I just took a dump and had Mark Zuckerberg pick it up. It was glorious.” And, “Recently, Mark trained me to sit, but really, I just trained him to give me treats anytime I want.” Zuckerberg has also posted a few albums where he and his girlfriend Priscilla Chan are seen cuddling their pet.
Other pet owners are following suit. “I, too, have set up a Facebook profile for my dog Bruno. I have added my friends’ pets in his friend list,” says Shalini Sharma, 31, a lecturer.
But not everyone is amused. “I wouldn’t want to be friends with someone’s dog on Facebook. It’s just a way to peep into Mark’s life,” says actor Suchitra Pillai.
Actor Tanushree Dutta, a dog lover, says, “It will be too banal to Tweet or Facebook for my dog.”
