Produced by Shah Rukh Khan and distributed by Eros Multimedia Pvt Ltd, Om Shanti Om is already booked for the first weekend on 52 screens in Delhi. In single-screen halls like Golcha, Sheila, Delite, Diamond and Amba, collections from advance bookings range between Rs 1.3 lakh and Rs 3.5 lakh. Among multiplexes, Satyam Cineplex was the first to sign a deal with Eros. Till Tuesday evening, Satyam’s ticket sales from all its three multiplexes amounted to Rs 32 lakh.

Saawariya, the first Hindi film that Sony Pictures Entertainment has produced, claims to elicit an equally good response. Vikramjit Roy of Sony Picture Entertainment told HT: “A grassroots marketing strategy was designed to promote Saawariya. Besides metropolises like Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore, we have received an amazing response from lesser known cities like Sangri, Islampur and Beawar.”

Not just Delhi, even in Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai, the first weekend shows are all sold out for both the films. Seems like a win-win situation for both.
