His older musician-son Imaad Shah made an impressionable debut with Yun Hota To Kya Hota in 2006. And soon, Naseeruddin Shah’s younger one, Vivaan will also be spotted in Vishal Bhardwaj’s Saat Khoon Maaf. Though the film is being looked forward to for the Shah-Bhardwaj combination, it’s his son who will be making his big debut.

Not just that, Shah also confirms that Bhardwaj expressed an interest in working with Vivaan in some upcoming projects as well. He says, “Yes, Vivaan has acted in Saat Khoon Maaf and Vishal wants him in some other films also. But he is still finishing college.”

The veteran doesn’t believe in shelling out tips and advice to them when it comes to making decisions in Bollywood. He adds, "There is no question of encouraging or discouraging them (Imaad or Vivaan). They have been making and will continue to make their own choices. It’s simple, they don’t ask and I don’t intrude."

As for his acting plans, Shah is in no evident hurry. He has shot for more than four films this year. And for now, he feels he’s had enough. “No more films for me for some time,” says he, adding that of the four films he has shot for, “the audience may only get to watch one… maybe two,” he says, smiling. “Of course Saat Khoon Maaf… everyone knows of, and also Dev Anand’s Chargesheet, which I have happily gone ahead and done.”

A keen supporter of films with smaller budgets than most, Shah has been known to pick the roles he does with great precision. He says, “I have always supported them and I still continue to.” When asked why the other films were not expected to release, he pauses, smiling.
