A few days back, actor Aarya Babbar lashed out at younger brother Prateik for calling Abhishek Bachchan his big brother. Aarya further blasted Prateik adding that he hopes the latter doesn’t say he has found a new father now. But the elder sibling has gone soft on Prateik now, calling him “a family member.”
“I have always loved Prateik and the feelings will never change. He has always been, and will be, a part of our family. That will never change,” says Aarya. “Whatever I’ve said was simply my emotional outburst that came out. But I really don’t want to talk about it again. We’re happy,” he says. Aarya had also previously stated that Prateik was getting sympathy votes in a cheap manner by using his late mother, Smita Patil’s name. He also mentioned that by dropping his Babbar surname, Prateik insulted their father and family. Later, Raj Babbar had said that Prateik would “always be his son.”
Career wise On the professional front, Aarya is busy filming Mumbhai – The Gangsters. “I am really happy to be doing a variety of films. For example, I’m shooting for Mumbhai these days that puts me in a very new mould. It feels good to be doing challenging roles now,” says Aarya, who also stars in Salman Khan’s Ready. “I play a bad guy who is beaten up by Salman Khan in the end. I think that would excite a lot of people,” laughs Aarya. “Besides Mumbhai and Ready, I am also doing Maximum with some great actors like Naseeruddin Shah, Pankaj Kapoor and Tabu. I am happy with my career graph.”
Recently, Aarya along with family members, celebrated his mother Nadira’s Ekjute Theatre’s 30th anniversary. “We all have been closely involved with Ekjute. But for the time being, I am concentrating on film assignments. Actually, my hands are full with very interesting projects, so I would like to pay attention to movies now,” smiles Aarya, who had made a dud film debut with Ab Ke Baras in 2002.
