Katherine Heigl, best known for her roles in The Ugly Truth, The Killers and 27 Dresses, says her friends have never fixed her up for dates. She admits to having had “plenty of awkward moments” on her dates though.

Narrating one incident, Heigl says, “I have had a couple of bad dates, but the worst was when I was eighteen, twenty pounds heavier, trying real hard to work it off at the gym.... And my trainer asked me out. It was kind of uncomfortable to be working out there, so I changed my gym.”

Life As We Know It, a romantic comedy which releases this Friday, starts off with Heigl and Josh Duhamel having a disastrous first date. After that, they begin to hate each other, but share love for their god-daughter, Sophie, who becomes the reason for their coming together again. Heigl adds, “We juggle our lives, to find common ground while living under one roof.”

Directed by Greg Berlanti, the film was shot in Atlanta, where Heigl also shot for The Killers earlier. She says, “I love Atlanta as I have my extended family there. I had a great time because there are lots of fabulous restaurants, where I gorged on food.”
