She’s out, but empty-handed. After hearing of her sister Shilpa Shetty’s wedding date, actress Shamita Shetty chose to exit the Bigg Boss house. And though she can’t wait to join the celebrations, she confesses to feeling bad to be the last one to know about the wedding.
“Feeling bad is an understatement. I was so upset that I might miss it. It’s a really important day in my sister’s life and once she gets married, her priorities will change. I want to spend as much time with her as possible. And at that time, I had already stayed inside the house and away from her for a month.”
And does she think her sister could’ve timed her wedding better? “Of course! I was so upset. I first heard about it from a stranger who wasn’t even sure about the date. Then I was made to wait for two days before Bigg Boss called me and told me the exact date. I can’t tell you what I went through during those two days. It was extremely frustrating to not know when your sister is getting married. But I just want to be a part of the happy moment now.”
Shamita maintains that she won’t follow in her sister’s footsteps anytime soon. “Where is the guy? No, I’m going to take a while (before getting married),” she says. The show also helped her break out of her sister’s shadow. “Before going inside, I had told people that I’m going to show them the real Shamita, because people hardly know me. They just know me as Shilpa’s sister or someone who’s really sweet. And I’m so happy that people liked me,” she says.
