Bollywood filmmaker Karan Johar, 39, plans to adopt a baby soon.
“I have the makings of a good father, and my mother (Hiroo Yash Johar) can definitely become the world’s best granny. She has everything it takes,” says KJo, talking proudly about his plans to become a single dad.
Junior Johar will come home only once KJo has the time to dedicate himself to the child."At the moment I will be on my toes with all the projects that have been green-signalled by my production house. If I adopt a kid now, I don’t think I’ll be able to do justice to my role as a father. It makes no sense to bring a child home and hand it over to a nanny.
The day I’m through with most of the projects, and I have some time to breathe, Junior Johar will come home," he says.
Johar says he’s been considering adoption for a while.
“I’m sure when I adopt my baby, I’ll be able to give it the right upbringing and shower all the bottled up love in my heart on my little one. I want to see him or her grow up in front of my eyes everyday,” he says.
What about a mother for his child?
“I don’t ever want to get married. As for a mother for my kid, I think I’ll manage that responsibility well. And wherever I fall short, I’ll have my mother to help me.”
