The trio are performing at the first paid-for shows being held at The Comedy Store at the Palladium, this weekend. The British comedy club which launched Russell Peters, Robin Williams and Dawn French, launched its Mumbai outlet last week.

When asked what they as western standup comics know about India, “I think my shirt was made in India,” British comic Ian Moore says. Staring out the window, he adds: “Even though it’s monsoon season, I wasn’t expecting the level of rains.”

Briton Gordon Southern claims he has done his research on Mumbai. “I eat a lot of curry anyway. So at the drop of a hat I’m prepared,” he says. “I did watch The Great Indian Laughter Challenge. I’ve written some stuff about that. But I didn’t understand a word of it — it’s all in Hindi!” he adds.
