Delhi-based chocolate company Celeste has introduced a ‘queer bouquet’ — which comprises rose-shaped pink chocolates (see pic above) priced at R150 each. “The pink roses are a small gesture to show our support for the LGBT community,” says Nidhi Bhageria of Celeste.

City salon Hair&Shanti has introduced a package ‘Made for Each Other’ for R1,000 which allows gay couples to get identical haircuts. “We already have some gay clients and decided to do something exclusive for them,” says Narayan Shrestha of the salon. Retail franchise Archie’s has a series of special V-day cards for lesbian and gay couples. “We launched them last year and got a great response,” says Yohan Arya, spokesperson of Archie’s.

Travel agency Indijapink has organised a getaway for the Valentine’s Day weekend. “We are taking gay couples to Udaipur and have organised a boat ride on Rachola lake and a 12-course Indian meal,” says Sanjay Malhotra, director of Indijapink.

For party-lovers too, there’s good news. A five star hotel in the Capital will be hosting an exclusive party for the LGBT community. “We’ll have famous DJs and artists perform on the V-day night,” says Mohnish Kabir Malhotra, of the Queer Delhi club. Alternative music company, Audio Ashram, is working on the party as well. Model Joey Mathews of Audio Ashram, says, "It’s an effort to show that it’s high time we accept gay couples.”

Some venues beg to differ. “We have to maintain a strict male-female ratio and so can’t allow queer couples,” says Deepali Narula, CEO F Bar & Lounge, Hotel Ashok.
