Delhi’s clubbing scene is set to get bigger... way bigger. Launching soon in the Capital are two new hot spots — one a superclub, that can accommodate upto 4,000 people, and the other a hotspot with a mega 50-feet long bar.

India’s first superclub, which goes by the name of Quantum, is in the same league as Spain’s Pacha-Ibiza (which has a capacity to accommodate 3,500 guests) and London’s Fabric (a capacity of 2,600).

“On any given day, we can have up to 3,500 guests and, if it’s really tight, up to 4,000,” says Kartikey Bhargava, corporate and marketing head of the joint.

Currently, Delhi’s coveted hot spots such as F Bar & Lounge, and LAP have a capacity of 500–700 people. The dance floor at this four-storey hub is designed to accommodate 800 people. “We’ve also used a body sonic dance floor that moves to the vibrations of the dancers,” explains Bhargava. The club opens in Noida, at the same venue as Elevate, in the first week of August.

Although excited to hear the news, Delhi’s party animals have a word of caution. “The security at Delhi’s clubs, especially for women, is inadequate. Hope the new ones take that into consideration,” says Rumi Saikia, 27. “I hope they do something about the shutting down time. Most clubs shut by 12, which is actually when the party scene starts to heat up,” says Pranab Pegu, 30.
