British reality TV star Jade Goody, who is suffering from cervical cancer, spent New Year's eve in hospital after her condition worsened.

Dailymail.co.uk reports that the actress is unable to get rid of a flu virus after her white blood cell count fell dangerously low following chemotherapy to fight her cervical cancer.

“Although her treatment appears to have been going well, it may have been a case of too much too soon. She is very prone to infection and has obviously picked up something which has hit her incredibly hard,” said a source.

The 27-year-old was discharged after the tests and has been asked to take complete bed rest, but will be re-admitted if she does not show improvement.
