is drawing quite a few compliments from the music industry. Lyricist Sayeed Qadri referred him to composer Mithoon. The song featuring Sanjay Dutt conveys a message of peace.

But has Daga met the stars yet? “I’ve been invited for the premiere. Maybe I’ll meet them there. But honestly, I’m not eager. I’m the shy kind. I prefer to practise rather than be seen at parties. Maybe that’s why I’m not a known face yet,” Daga says.

At the outset, Daga was tagged ‘the singer who resembles Vivek Oberoi’. He laughs, “Even directors wanted me to feature in the

music videos of my albums.” The singer however admits that he’s had to struggle to make a mark in Bollywood. “The singing reality shows are a boon. But it’s not easy to grab playback. Even after two hit albums,

and

, I had to strive hard to get a foothold.” Daga has also dubbed a track for Onir’s film,

I Am

.

“Pritam also has promised me a song. Right now, I’m concentrating on Bollywood songs and planning an album a year,” Daga asserts.

A self-confessed Kishore Kumar, Mohd Rafi, Raahat Fateh Ali Khan and Bryan Adams fan, Daga is also learning western music.
