LBD now in dictionary

The Oxford Dictionary of English officially recognised the abbreviation LBD, adding the shortened form of Little Black Dress to its lexicon.

The Oxford Dictionary of English officially recognised the abbreviation LBD, adding the shortened form of Little Black Dress to its lexicon. Not to be confused with the venerable Oxford English Dictionary, the ODE, first published in 1998, uses a continually updated word bank to assess what sort of language is actually being used these days. Among the 2,000 words and phrases that made the cut this year are “vuvuzela,” “tweetup” and “bromance”.
