Run by Mohammad Usmaan and his family, this place, located behind the library, will be revamped to a proper stall.

The place was started by Jamaal Ruddin, who was fondly called Jumma, hence the name.

Serving Old Delhi style chaat to the students of the college, it has been running from more than 60 years.

“My grandfather used to put a stall in the old campus of this college. I am just following the tradition of my forefathers,” says Usmaan, 56. He sells three types of chaat — Chana Kulche, Fruit Chaat and Quliya.

Basically a boiled potato stuffed with spicy chana filling with tamarind water, the Quliya Chaat is the most sought after item here.

This low-fat snack is not only famous with the students but also with the teaching staff.

“We love to eat at Usmaan chacha’s stall. I simply adore the Chana Kulcha, as it is nothing like the usual ones sold outside the campus,” says Shagufta Khan, a second year student of the college.

This chaat corner has been here since 1948. The fourth generation of the Usmaan family now runs the stall in the college campus. The chaat is prepared in authentic Old Delhi style. The menu serves:
Chana with sevaiyan and two kulchas: Rs 13
Fruit Chaat with tangy sauce: Rs 12
Plate of four Quliya: Rs 12
