From Delhi, to London, and now to Mumbai, in the space of a week!

After my concert in Delhi with my father, I was back in London settling into my new house in the heart of the city.

Right now, the Holiday season is in full swing and London is truly beautiful, with Christmas lights lining the streets and trees twinkling out from people’s windows. Earlier this week I put up a huge, beautiful Christmas tree in my living room, and it’s making me feel settled and rooted in London to be there during this time. But God, as an Indian who’s also lived in California for so much of my life, I’m finding it so cold! My poor body has no defenses against the freezing winds and icy rain.

The only thing I will concede, is that it’s much more fun dressing up in winter, with sexy boots, feather-soft hats, bright gloves and slinky scarves to adorn and enhance my outfits with. I’m such a hippie in the summer, dressing almost exclusively in simple dresses and flip flops, so it’s fun to put polished outfits together and feel really womanly in my winter coats and velvety clothes again.

Earlier this week, I went to the world premier of Guy Ritchie’s new film, Sherlock. It’s great fun! Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law both do fantastic jobs as Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson, respectively, and the film is a great entertainer, full of witty one-liners and brilliant action scenes. There were hundreds of people lining the red-carpet waiting to see the stars, and I felt really bad for the lead actresses who had to pose for so long in their gorgeous, but very revealing couture gowns, on a rainy December night!

As I mentioned earlier, I’m currently in Mumbai. It’s great to be back after many months. Two weekends ago, I wrote that I was in Delhi to perform with my father; now, it’s my pleasure to say I’m in Mumbai for the same reason, as we’re performing together here the day this article gets printed.

Performing in Mumbai means a great deal to my father and therefore, naturally, to me as well, so I’m looking forward to tonight’s show, while also being quite nervous about it too! On top of that, performing with my father is, in itself, always a special and momentous occasion for me, so I’m very grateful to be having that opportunity and experience again tonight.

I do hope those of you who are reading this in Mumbai come and join us at the show!
