After the success of Tanu Weds Manu, R Madhavan is taking his professional life easy. The actor is comfortable with the pace of his life and would like to do one film a year.
“I’m in a cushy position and am really liking it. I consider myself lucky to be part of amazing films like 3 Idiots (2010) and Tanu Weds Manu,” says the actor, who is yet to sign a Hindi movie since his last release. “I’m reading a lot of scripts, but am yet to finalise anything. I’m looking forward to the Diwali release of my Tamil film with director N. Linguswamy.” The film titled Vettai also stars Sameera Reddy, Arya and Amala Paul in lead roles.
On this break from films, the actor has associated himself with an education initiative, Shiksha, which helps build schools for the underprivileged around the country. On his visit to one such institution in Chennai, the actor reminisced, “Looking at all the glowing faces of the children, I was taken back to my school days. Underprivileged children need special attention and love, so I make it a point to look into the eyes of each kid and communicate with them as I shake hands with them.”
Though the actor has hosted various TV game shows like Big Money, Tol Mol Ke Bol and Deal Ya No Deal in the past, but so far nothing that interests him has come his way. “It was really exciting for me to be part of these shows and if anything great comes up, I won’t mind coming back to TV,” he says.
