Anurag Kashyap’s life is on a roll. On the personal front, the 38-year-old filmmaker is preparing to soon get married to his girlfriend cum actor Kalki Koechlin, 28 and professionally there is a series of films that he is working on namely Gangs of Wasseypur, That Girl in Yellow Boots, Bombay Velvet and his co-production Trishna starring Freida Pinto.
“It is a strange time. A lot is happening around me. I always wanted to do this and it is good position to be in,” he says. Though he does not wish to reveal much about his wedding but says, “Yes we are formally engaged and the marriage will happen pretty soon. That's it I don't think I need to divulge details like when, where, how, why… as it is too personal a matter to be discussed in media.”
The filmmaker has now taken to acting after staying behind the camera. “I am not taking up acting seriously as I don't know how to act. I just be myself in front of the camera,” says Kashyap who is acting in two films - I Am and Shagird.
He is also co-producing Hollywood director Michael Winterbottom helmed Trishna. “It is a learning thing from Bollywood to see them (Hollywood) work. We work with a crew of 150 while they work with just 20. Each individual in their crew work a lot harder then us and are not used to be pampered,” he says adding that Freida has completely transformed. “She is extremely hard working. She has grown into another person. She will sit on the roadside waiting for her shot that shows how grounded she is,” he says.

{{/usCountry}}Recently actor Payal Rohtagi dragged him into the casting couch controversy. “I supported Dibakar (Bannerjee) as I believed in him. The issue was provoked from all sides. So I shut up, switched off my phone and did not react,” he says.
