Mel Gibson abuses TV reporter

The Hollywood actor lashed out after some persistent questioning by a Chicago TV entertainment reporter about his infamous drink-driving arrest in the year 2006.

The 54-year-old Hollywood actor, Mel Gibson abused a US reporter on live TV after a tense interview about his past. The actor lashed out after some persistent questioning by a the reporter about his infamous drink-driving arrest in the year 2006.

"Do you think that the public will perceive you any differently after all that's been in the news about you?" WGN-TV's Dean Richards asked during a live interview by video link.

"Referring to the drinking problems, referring to what's been called the anti-Semitic rant." Gibson became visibly agitated, telling the reporter: "I've moved on, I guess you haven't".

"I've done all the necessary mea culpas, let's move on, dude." Richards brought the interview to a close by plugging Gibson's new film Edge of Darkness and saying "It's great to see you back in the saddle". Gibson responds with "bye-bye", then, apparently thinking he was no longer live on television, adds: " …as*#$le" but he was still live.
