Hollywood icon Michael Douglas' spokesperson has rubbished reports that the cancer-afflicted actor has just three months to live, branding the rumours as "really disgusting."

The Wall Street star is currently recovering after completing radiation and chemotherapy treatment for throat cancer earlier this month.

An article in US tabloid National Enquirer recently suggested Douglas' health had taken a turn for the worse and claimed the star has only months to live.

But the 66-year-old actor's friend and spokesperson Allen Burry denied any element of truth in the story, telling celebrity website GossipCop that the speculation is "really disgusting" and a result of "complete fabrications."
