Unlike her friend Karan Johar, Ekta Kapoor isn’t planning a huge bash to bring in her birthday today. The producer, however, is “excited” about her big professional projects, especially Tigmanshu Dhulia’s Milan Talkies. Although the film has been in the news for a long time, Ekta confirms that it will go on the floors in 2013.
“We are set to start off Milan Talkies. It’s most likely to start in the first half of next year. For me, it’s one of the most exciting projects we are going to come up with,” says Ekta, adding with a laugh: “It’s a superb star cast, but if I reveal it now, my team will kill me.”
The Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai (2010) producer has flown to Tirupati to bring in her birthday. “This time, I am going to walk up to the Tirumala Hills,” says Ekta. “Then I will take 40 close friends and family members out for a private dinner.”
Didn’t Karan Johar’s party inspire her to plan a similar bash? “Don’t forget that I am younger,” she laughs. “When I turn 40, I will take Karan and a few other friends to an undisclosed location to bring in my birthday. I wouldn’t let anyone know that I have turned 40.”
In fact, for her religious visit, Ekta has also cancelled her trip to Singapore for IIFA. “I’m not going to IIFA because I’m going to Tirupati, and, after coming back, I will go to Siddhivinayak,” says Ekta, who is also expecting a surprise gift from her parents. Any big film announcement on her birthday? “Not really. I am already busy with five-six films that need to go on the floors immediately. So I would rather focus on starting them first.”
