Who is Pierre P Thomas?
Pierre "Pee" Thomas, an Atlanta native, co-founded Quality Control Music in March 2013 along with Kevin "Coach K" Lee. Before starting Quality Control, Thomas was recovering from a difficult run with a small label called Dirty Dolla Entertainment when he began working with Coach K.
Coach K, from Indianapolis, had already made his mark in the industry by managing Young Jeezy and Gucci Mane, helping Jeezy score two No. 1 albums on the Billboard 200 and Gucci Mane peak at No 2 on Billboard's Rap Albums chart.
Together, the pair built Quality Control into a major hip-hop label, spending 12 months and $1 million to build a bunker-like headquarters in Atlanta with four recording studios. The label's roster has included Migos, Lil Baby, Lil Yachty, City Girls, Rich the Kid, and Stefflon Don, among others, as per Variety. Lee reportedly signed Migos within a month of approaching Thomas to start the label.
The label found major success with releases like Migos' "Culture," which was certified double platinum and debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, and Lil Baby's "Harder Than Ever" and "My Turn," with the latter also hitting No. 1 and going triple platinum, according to Creators Blueprint.
