Controversy continues to dog 3 Idiots. The Maharashtra government on Monday decided to examine the film’s content after reports that it inspired a ragging incident in a Mumbai medical college.

As many as 18 students, including some intern doctors, of Seth GS Medical College and KEM Hospital were arrested on Monday for ragging freshers on New Year’s Eve.

“We will ask the movie’s producer to submit its script as there are media reports that the Seth GS Medical College ragging incident was similar to the one shown in 3 Idiots,” Minister for Medical Education Vijaykumar Gavit told reporters in Mumbai. “Also, we would write to the Censor Board that as far as possible such scenes should be avoided in the movies,” he said.
