Pak PM invites Lata as state guest

Music is truly capable of transcending boundaries. An invitation to Lata Mangeshkar by Pak PM Yousuf Raza Gilani proves just that. If all goes well, the ace singer would grace Pakistan as state guest.

Music is truly capable of transcending boundaries. An invitation to Lata Mangeshkar by Pak PM Yousuf Raza Gilani proves just that. If all goes well, the ace singer would grace Pakistan as state guest.

During a dinner meeting with singer Adnan Sami in Islamabad last week, Gilani raised the question of Lataji’s long-pending visit. “She owes it to her fans in Pakistan, which includes me,” the Pakistani PM apparently told Adnan.

He then asked Adnan to bring the melody queen to Pakistan as the country's state guest.

Confirming the invitation from Pakistan’s PM, Adnan tells Mumbai Mirror, "Yes, Gilani saab has invited Lataji through me. He is a huge fan of hers. So is Nawaz Sharif for that matter."

While Lata is yet to say yes, her Pakistan fans must have already started celebrating.
