Protect your furniture and home decoratives from damage due to moisture and humidity. Here’s how:

Vacuum carpets regularly to get rid of the damp and musty smell. Wrap them in polythene sheets to protect from insect infestation.

Keep furniture away from the corners.

Use a soft cloth to wipe clean decorative items and wipe daily to prevent dust from settling and moisture coming in contact.

Any major work in the home should be done either before the monsoon or after.

Place packets of silica gel, camphor balls or neem tree leaves inside bookcases or cupboards. Metal surfaces can get rusty and should be treated with a waterproofing spray.
