The night before the official closing ceremony of the Games, British High Commissioner, Sir Richard Stagg, along with Vipin Sondhi of JCB India, hosted a private dinner for Prince Edward, the Earl of Wessex.

Prince Edward, who was also the chief guest at the closing ceremony, spent most of the evening chatting with the guests.

The venue — the Commissioner’s residence — was buzzing with corporate honchos in their stylish suits.

The gracious hostess, Lady Arabella Stagg, was busy perfecting the table settings till the Prince sat down to commence the meal.

Conversations at the party revolved around England’s loss to India in the hockey semi-final earlier in the day. But the fabulous wines, paired with a delicious dinner, made the mood look up.
