I made my way into this gorgeous world nearly seven years ago from Kolkata though I never thought that I could ever make it big here. In fact, I was preparing for my UPSC exams when I learnt about the Pune Film Institute. Then, my life changed.
As a composer, I started off with friend called Jeet. Eventually we decided to part ways..amicably. Bollywood, as people call it, is a fantastic training ground. It has taught me how not to get bogged down by any form of pressure.
Gossip items don’t trouble me anymore.. however nasty they are. I said I’m learning.. see I have. I’ve also been attacked with charges of plagiarism and misquoted on the subject on several occasions. Someone even stated in a press report that there was legal case against me.
Some media men and women go to the extent of looking up internet websites to find out where a tune of mine can be sourced. Some have even called me a deejay. Ha! All I will say that no composer in the industry is original.

{{/usCountry}}So why single me out? Whatever the allegations and misquotes, my music makes everyone from an eight-year-old to an 80-year-old tap his feet, clap and dance. That pays for all the hard work I do. That’s all I work for.
And yes, I have no hesitation is saying that I do wish to own many, many awards. Autorickshawallas love me too.
