Superstar Rajinikanth, who flew back to the country yesterday night after suffering from a prolonged illness, was advised by the doctors to recover under their vigilance in Singapore but the actor was adamant to return.
The star got homesick and insisted on returning. "He missed home. He missed his friends, family and fans. He insisted on returning now," a source close to Rajini told Mid Day.
Rajini, who is next to God for his fans, was greeted by them on his arrival.
"It's crazy over here in Chennai. As soon as news spread that Rajiniji is returning, all of the city got ready to give him a resounding reception," the source added.
The shoot for Rana will resume around September reportedly and Deepika Padukone has confirmed her availability.
"Deepika has assured the superstar that she will be there to shoot whenever he's ready to do so," the source told the tabloid.
