As the nation readies itself for the festival of colours, HT Café carried out a snap poll among 11 film stars to find out which Holi song tops their list. The tracks presented to them as options included Holi ke din (Sholay), Aaj na chodenge (Kati Patang), Holi khele raghuveera (Baghban), Do me a favour (Waqt – Race Against Time) and Rang barse(Silsila). Not surprisingly, the last one won."
Here is what some of them had to say about their picks:
Vidya Balan: It has to be Rang barse. It’s has all my favourite actors — Mr Bachchan, Sanjeev Kumar, Rekhaji and Jayaji. Plus, the energy is unmatched.
Bipasha Basu: Rang barse is my favourite. I have grown up with this song. I was born in Delhi and have lived in the city for many years, so I have heard it play during Holi time and again.
Priyanka Chopra: It has to be Do me a favour. I enjoyed filming the song, but I will never forget getting electrocuted on that set (laughs). Plus, we had a great time shooting my first Holi song.
Deepika Padukone: I don’t think we have had a Holi song like Rang barse since it came out back in the ’80s. It’s an iconic song, the minute you think of Holi, it comes to your mind.
Sonam Kapoor: Holi ke din from Sholay is my favourite song because of the way it was shot, along with the chemistry between Dharamji and Hemaji along with the energy and fervour of the festival.

Sharman Joshi: I love Rang barse for the quiet passionate romance the director and actors have managed to portray through it. It eventually spirals into an uninhibited display of love.
