Oi! What is this I’m hearing? Madhu My Mottu Maid wants a day off, starting today evening. As she saunters in with my Earl Grey tea, she says that she needs to go and see her Shabana Aunty, someone she idolises (I wonder, really?). Well, she says, Shabana Azmi was expected to be on her toes by now, given that she has Gurinder Chadha’s It’s A Beautiful Afterlife readying for release.

She isn’t because her leg has been put back under a cast and she’s been advised bed rest for a few more days by the doctors. She can’t even travel to London where she was scheduled to be by this weekend. I’m going to send her a bouquet and wish her to get well soon, pronto. And knowing her, she’ll be up and about, very soon!
