While the Delhi chapter of Slutwalk Arthaat Besharmi Morcha gathers steam, Controversy queen Rakhi Sawant, who is infamous for her skimpy wardrobe, is skeptical about the 'Besharmi Morcha'.
"It will just become a tamasha. Men are psychos, it might also provoke rapists to do it more. A morcha like this is encouraging the youngsters to wear short clothes. I wear short clothes myself but that's only because that's what my profession demands. But the truth is men will rape a woman irrespective of what she wears, if they can rape a 70yr old beggar, what more can be said.
Giving her 'expert' insight into the male psyche, she says: "I understand mentality of men. I know that 90% men find a woman in full clothes sexy because they constantly think about her body underneath the clothes."
Sawant is unapologetic about her penchant for wearing short clothes herself, " I wear short clothes myself because my profession demands it. If I won't wear then someone else will wear then why should I kill my chances", she asks.
While the younger generation sees the 'SlutWalk' as a walk for liberation, Rakhi dons the moral policing hat, "If you protest for the right to wear short clothes, it won't make much of a difference, in fact this will increase generation gap between parents and youngsters. If parents force their kids to cover up, they will either commit suicide, run away or get into drugs."
