While reports of the bookstore suffering major financial losses have been doing the rounds for a while now, the advent of online book delivery websites too has caused a dip in sales.

However, Vidya Virkar, daughter of TN Shanbhag, the man behind the bookstore, denies that there are plans to shut down. She says, “Nonsense. This is just a malicious rumour.” We hope so too.
