The talented newcomer is exhibiting Slither, her collection, along with several graduating students at the Hotel Ashok today. “Our collection is inspired by the movements of the snake,” announces Beriwal. In a way Beriwal and her classmates have managed to create the illusion of a snake in the form of a belt using small light bulbs wrapped around the waist.

Adhering to the theme is DPS Vasant Kunj alumna Ruchi Singhal, who has done a jewellery design course from JD Institute of Fashion Technology. Her jewellery collection shows the rising sun in the form of a pendant and a snake in the necklace with red garnet denoting the eye. “There’s so much to choose from if you have a theme like nature. We’ve been working on the collection for a month and the three pieces I’ve designed are in sterling silver.” Sisters Elvera and Evelyn Kapoor shifted base from Dubai to study fashion in the country. “We must carry forward our traditional craftsmanship,” says Kapoor.
