Suraj hasn’t done anything that will affect his career: Zarina Wahab

With her son Suraj right at the centre of the scandal surrounding Jiah Khan’s untimely death, Zarina Wahab feels sad not only for her son but the deceased actor and her family as well.

With her son Suraj right at the centre of the scandal surrounding Jiah Khan’s untimely death, Zarina Wahab feels sad not only for her son but the deceased actor and her family as well. “I am feeling bad for her (Jiah’s) mother. Parents do so much for their kids and when they do something like this, and leave you all alone, it hurts. She was a sweet girl and what happened was sad,” says Zarina.

Suraj’s career has just started to take off; he will make his debut with filmmaker Subhash Ghai’s remake of his own superhit film Hero (1983) with Sunil Shetty’s daughter Athiya. Ask Zarina if she thinks that the controversy around Jiah’s death will affect Sooraj’s career in any way, and she says, “He hasn’t done anything that would affect his career. If you fight with your family and later hang yourself, is it your family’s fault? Suicide is that person’s own decision and he or she is responsible for their actions. They can’t handle situations in life, and decide to take this way out. There must have been many contributing factors for her decision, but I don’t know what and I don’t want to get into the details. However, I am feeling really bad for her family.”
