Newbie Shazahn Padamsee discovered the price of fame recently when a troublemaker created two false profiles in her name. The actress said, “Someone created an account with my name and started sending abusive messages to directors, producers and actors. This went on till a certain director actually called to check, ‘What is wrong with you? Why the hell are you sending such messages to me?’ It was then that I realised that something was wrong.” She added, “I found out that someone had also created a profile by the name Shazahn A Padamsee. I have decided to complain to the cyber police now.”

A similar incident happened with actress Malaika Arora Khan, who got a shock when fashion designer Anna Singh called her to check why she was asking her to send clothes. The impersonator sent lewd messages to all her friends asking for their semi-nude pictures. Arora then made an announcement that she was not on any social networking site.

Actress Amrita Rao, too, had a hard time when a man claiming to be her fiancée created a fake account in the name of Amrita D Rao and started introducing himself from her id. He claimed that he was a prince related to Vijay Mallya. The actress said, “Amrita D Rao is not my id. This is ridiculous.

I have joined Facebook recently and I had no clue about this account.”

Earlier in March, producer Ekta Kapoor’s Facebook id had also been hacked, with the hacker sending vulgar messages to everyone. But the queen of K serials quickly stopped the account and made a new one. Actress Sonam Kapoor’s Facebook account was also hacked and pictures of a private party were circulated over the net.

Actress Kangna Ranaut was forced to start a website after many people started sites in her name and began spreading rumours. She said, “There were a lot of rumours floating around about me. So I’ve now created a site that would clarify rumours and give real news.”
