His last two films may have been damp squibs but Nikhil Dwivedi hopes that his new venture Raavana, in which he stars alongside Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai, will do wonders for his career graph. And while he commends Abhishek’s “courteous and eloquent nature” and Aishwarya’s “chilled-out attitude”, he reserves majority of his praise for director Mani Ratnam.

“It’s a divine opportunity to work with Mani Ratnam. Even if I was 50 films old, I would’ve grabbed the chance to work with him,” he says. The actor puts to rest rumours of him playing Lakshman in the film. “All this playing of Lakshman and Ram is very speculative. It is not like that. You’ll realise what the characters really are once you see the film,” he clarifies.

He also makes it a point to dispel rumours of his supposed relationship with actress Amrita Rao. “I’ve been in a relationship with someone else for the past 3 years. I’m speaking out now because this rumour should die down. I kept thinking it would after My Name is Anthony Gonzalves, but it didn’t,” he says.
