Hollywood star Tom Cruise will be checking into the presidential suite of the Taj Mahal Palace and Towers in Colaba today. The actor, who is visiting the country to promote his forthcoming film Mission Impossible 4: Ghost Protocol, leaves Mumbai on December 5.

The presidential suite that Cruise has booked for two nights will cost him Rs 20 lakh (tariff of Rs 10 lakh per night). The 5,000 square foot sprawling space has, in the past, hosted US President Barrack Obama, French President Nicolas Sarkozy, and even Hollywood couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. Though Cruise was earlier supposed to travel with wife Katie Holmes and daughter Suri, recent reports reveal that he will be travelling alone. Another 14 rooms have been booked for his management and entourage.

During his two-day stay, the actor is expected to meet Bollywood personalities and attend a high-profile party organised by his official hosts Viacom 18 and MI:4 co-star Anil Kapoor.

Though officials from the hotel did not comment on the details of his stay due to security reasons, Gaurav Pokhariyalm, general manager of The Taj Mahal Palace and Towers, confirms the visit, saying, “We are honoured that Tom Cruise and the Mission Impossible 4 team have chosen to stay at our hotel on their visit to India.”
