East Midlands town of Leicester, United States, which prides itself with organising the largest Diwali festivities outside India, is set to hold the Diwali lights switching-on ceremony, for which a record turnout is expected.

This year, organisers expect more than 35,000 people for the event on Belgrave Road, also known as the Golden Mile. Fireworks, and laser displays will illuminate the area on October 24. Music and more fireworks have also been planned for Diwali on November 5.
